Shabnam's Pears Poached in Kashmiri Chai


Shabnam’s Poached Pears in Kashmiri Chai
From The Tea Emporium

Prep time: 20 minutes
Poaching time: 30 minutes

Serves 6

Ingredients:

6 medium pears (not too ripe)
6 tsp The Tea Emporium Kashmiri Chai
2 tbsp honey

Directions:
1. Infuse Kashmiri Chai in 2 cups of water for 20 minutes. Sweeten with honey and taste. Remove chai from water leaving just the infusion for the pears.

2. Peel pears and place snuggly in a pot. Pour chai infusion over pears ensuring that they are completely covered. Let pears slowly simmer with chai over low heat for 30 minutes – or until pears are tender. Remove pears from pot and let cool – you can also serve them warm if preferred.

Serve with vanilla sauce or ice cream – garnish with cinnamon stick.
