Cacik - or Turkish Style Tzatziki or Raita...delicious no matter what you call it.

Cacik (pronounced Jajek) – Turkish Raita or Tzatziki
From Forever Summer

Makes 1½ cups

Prep time: 5 minutes
Rest time: 5 minutes
Chill time: at least 1 hour

Ingredients:
½ cucumber, peeled and finely diced
½ cup Greek yoghurt
1 tsp dried mint
1 tsp salt
Handful of fresh mint leaves, chopped
1 large clove garlic, minced
At serving:
Pinch ground sumac (my own addition)
More chopped mint
Extra virgin olive oil to drizzle before serving

Directions:
1. Combine everything in a bowl. Mix well and let it rest for 5 minutes or so.

2. Taste for seasoning, cover and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Actually we ate some right away with homemade pita chips and it was very tasty. Nigella doesn’t recommend keeping it for more than a day or so. Sprinkle some fresh chopped mint, pinch of sumac if you have any...it's delicious, and drizzle some good extra virgin olive oil over it all.

This is a great side for any spicy meat dish – very refreshing.
